About me

Hi! My name is Kyra. Sharing food with people is something that makes my heart sing. I've worked in bakeries and baked for friends and family for years. I have wanted to share my baking with more people in my extended community for a long while and decided to take the leap.

In the summer of 1984, my Mom opened her own art gallery on Nantucket. I love admiring and feeling inspired by this accomplishment of hers. Art was always in her life, and it was one of her ways of bringing people together and expressing herself, like baking is for me. She named the gallery Galerie Oboussier after her maternal grandmother, and my great grandmother, Lily Oboussier. There are so many ways I want to honor my Mom and cherish her spirit in my life. I hope I can do that in some way with Oboussier Baking. She didn't do a lot of baking, but my sister and I definitely got our insatiable sweet tooth from her.
